Early Intervention Assessment Team

Our Early Intervention Assessment Team works directly with the Mississippi Department for Health under the First Steps program to provide early intervention assessments for children ages birth to three years of age.  Under the First Steps program, two or more qualified professionals from separate disciplines administer evaluation tools to determine a child’s initial eligibility and ongoing eligibility for early intervention services in the state of Mississippi.  Our team is comprised of three professionals with backgrounds in speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and special education.  Assessments are provided in the child’s home, daycare, or related setting. On average, our team will conduct approximately 300 contacts in a year for early intervention assessment services.
